The Consortium for DEWATS Dissemination (CDD) Society is a registered non-governmental organisation working in the area of ‘Decentralised Basic Needs Services’ (DBNS). CDD Society’s objective is to improve the social, economic and environmental conditions of economically marginalised groups through the provision of appropriate, affordable and decentralised ‘basic needs services’ towards attaining its mission of poverty alleviation and environmental sustainability.
Since its inception in 2002, CDD Society has worked on Community Based Sanitation (CBS), City Sanitation Planning (CSP), Decentralised Solid Waste Management (DESWAM), Decentralised Water Supply Systems (DEWASS), Decentralised Renewable Energy Systems (DERES) and Decentralised Wastewater Treatment Systems (DEWATS). CDD Society has also identified capacity building of key players in urban sanitation planning and implementation as a key area and runs tailor made courses aimed at building the required skills of various stakeholders in the entire chain of implementation of decentralised sanitation services.
CDD’s vision is to improve the social, economic and environmental conditions of the underprivileged in South Asia through development, promotion and dissemination of appropriate, decentralised and affordable ‘Basic Needs Services’.
